Thanasis Navrozoglou Participated in a Discussion on the Emerging Technology Hub in Ioannina in the context of the Plasmata II Digital Art Exhibition

On Wednesday, June 28th, Thanasis Navrozoglou took part in a panel discussion held at the Palaia Sfageia hall. The panel focused on the emerging technology hub in Ioannina, exploring its prospects and challenges within the context of the digital art exhibition hosted by the Onassis Foundation Plasmata II in town.

Joining Thanasis Navrozoglou on the panel were notable speakers such as Stelios Gouskos from the local company Terracom, Haris Tsavdaris representing the recently established PwC branch in Ioannina and Giorgos Goletsis, the head of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit (MOKE) at the University of Ioannina. The discussion was expertly moderated by journalist Yiannis Papadimitriou from the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.

The event received support from the local government of Ioannina, as well as Google and C Ioannina, a newly formed community catering to remote workers in the city. The presence of these distinguished panelists and their respective positions showcased the transformation Ioannina has undergone, particularly since 2017, when the city experienced a noticeable boost in technology and innovation, greatly benefiting the local economy.

Previously considered less developed in these areas, Ioannina has now established a robust technological ecosystem. This achievement can be attributed to the abundance of talent in the city and the exceptional living conditions it offers. By fostering effective cooperation among all stakeholders, optimizing available resources, and making substantial investments in this upward trend, Ioannina can attract more entrepreneurial endeavors, encourage foreign businesses and related initiatives, and serve as the foundation for a long-term transformation that will shape the future of society and, consequently, the economy.

Thanasis Navrozoglou expresses his heartfelt gratitude for the esteemed invitation to participate in this discussion. He commends the organizers for their warm hospitality and declares Natech’s unwavering support for future initiatives of a similar nature.
